Cringe

So I was out buying myself a couple of external hard drives (following Brown's recommendations) and while waiting at the lights, I overhead barely pubescent boys talking about their LAN gaming (probably Counterstrike, what else?):

"I actually only prefers the M-16A1 M-16A2 (my bad, was re-reading this and realised that it's the A2 that had the setting for 3-round bursts), but only in semi or full auto mode; I really don't like the 3-round burst..."

Nothing wrong with that, except for the little grammatical boo-boo and the fact that the grammatical boo-boo was pronounced 'preface'.

Cringe.

But, I now suddenly have 50GB to play with on my HDD on my laptop. Yay!

    He prefaces an M-16A1?

Yeah, but his isn't a book I'd buy.

Dude, how's things? Haven't heard (or read) from you in a while.

And it isn't 'prefaces', it's just 'preface'...

    Shudder.

External drives = good. With only 20 gig on my iBook (and the standard installation of OS X and basic apps takes up 12 gigs of that) I have no space on my iBook for my music and photos, which I keep on an 160 gig external drive.

You should get some more too. Now I have 400GB to use up and I spent something like sub-$600 on both of them...

Just waiting a while before I buy the hub, so I can use another two more, one at home and one at the studio.

Dude - I am well! Dry for 8 months, not smoking for 4 years and as fit as a fiddle. Now working as the Global Architect for my business line in the bank - so pretty happy. I will be happier once the Kanga has joined me - and hope to see some of you guys soon (I am in SG in Feb). I will update my blog to give a "position" statement of my life currently!

BTW - hate to be anal but prefaces is perfectly valid it is the transitive verb and is allowed as such. The plural of the noun is also prefaces - see here. Sorry

儒 - Hmm, really still a n00b when it comes to external HDDs. But the ones I got were the Maxtor 200GB drives ($168 each) and the Zoom Xtremes (various models - I got the one with Firewire 800 capability). Total came up to sub-$600 for two. mb got his at Chamaox (? - 5th Floor Funan), I got mine at PK Computers... same price, so go for whichever service was better I guess...

Neil - No, dude. Europe's kinda out of my budget at the moment - saving up for Japan sometime in April next year. And we're planning a trip to Hanoi again at the end of this year. Maybe when the Euro's not kicking the SGD's butt.
